What is Screenagers???
Screenagers: Elementary School Edition is a documentary that addresses issues that elementary school-aged kids, parents, and educators are facing, i.e., smartwatches in class, unhooking from and monitoring video gaming, social media pressures, and exposure too young, what research shows is a healthy amount of screen time, and many solutions to these and other challenges. It’s only 54 minutes long!
Why is this important???
We know that so many families and schools are struggling with their youngest children’s use of phones, computers, and watches. By watching the film together, we are taking the first steps in establishing a village to share our struggles, hopes, and solutions in hopes of empowering us to parent in a way around technology that promotes the mental well-being of our children.
By viewing and discussing this film, we aim to consider healthy limits for our youngest children so that their development will be on track emotionally, socially, and physically. Our greatest hope is that families and friend groups can work together to support our community of kids.
